Day Recap is a private daily journal. Rate each day from 1 to 10, add a few optional details, write what happened, note who was there, and star the days worth remembering. Over time your calendar becomes a visual record of your life, and insights show what tends to come with your better days.

Common questions
How do I log a day?
On Today, tap a number from 1 to 10. Your entry opens with that rating chosen. Everything else is optional. Tap Save Day when you're done.
Can I change a past day?
Yes. Open Calendar, tap the day, then tap Edit (or Log Day if it's empty).
Why don't I see any insights yet?
Insights compare days with and without something, such as the gym, 7+ hours of sleep or a particular friend. Each comparison needs enough days on both sides before it appears, and each card shows how many days it's based on. Keep logging and they'll fill in. Insights show patterns, not causes.
What is a "good day"?
By default, any day rated 7 or higher. You can change this in Settings › Good day. Your ratings never change, only how they're counted.
Apple Health
Sleep or gym isn't filling in
- Check that Apple Health is turned on in Day Recap's Settings.
- In the iPhone Settings app, go to Health › Data Access & Devices › Day Recap and allow Sleep and Workouts.
- Sleep needs to be recorded in Apple Health (for example by Apple Watch or the Sleep schedule). Day Recap counts time asleep between 6 pm the evening before and 2 pm on the day.
- Any workout recorded in Apple Health on that day marks it as a gym day. No workout leaves the gym field empty rather than "No".
- Day Recap only fills fields you haven't answered. It never overwrites what you've entered.
I don't want to use Apple Health
That's fine. Leave it off and enter sleep and gym yourself, or skip them entirely.
Reminders
I'm not getting the evening reminder
- In Day Recap, go to Settings › Evening reminder and make sure it's on and set to the time you want.
- In the iPhone Settings app, go to Notifications › Day Recap and allow notifications.
- Focus modes can hold back notifications. Check your Focus settings if reminders arrive late or not at all.
Your data
Where is my journal stored?
Only on your iPhone. Day Recap has no account and no servers. If you use iCloud Backup or back up to a computer, your journal is included in that device backup and restored with it.
How do I delete everything?
Deleting the app from your iPhone permanently removes all of its data from the device.
